Bobbie Becker, the singer and “assistant” in the Becker Magic Show, comes from the world of musical theater. Bobbie has held the lead role in many musical performances, such as Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, The Bakers Wife in Into the Woods, and Lola in Copacabana as well as the star of many production shows.
A few years ago, she and her husband/partner Fred had the honor of performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. under the direction of the late Marvin Hamlisch accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra. They appeared on “Penn and Teller: Fool Us” television show. They have won several awards for their performances both individually and together.
Bobbie was reluctant to be part of Fred’s magic show. Initially she took up the mantle just so they would not be separated during long contracts he had scheduled. It quickly became obvious to all that she brought something new and fun to the show. Eventually Mrs. Becker embraced the role and went about redefining it to fit her unique skills.
Here Bobbie and Fred sit down and discuss openly and frankly some of the trials and triumphs of living and working with your spouse in the often high anxiety world of show business.
